The Swing Of The Pendulum Changed Our Days

In 1656 Christian Huygens (1629 – 1695), a Dutch scientist, applied a discovery made by Galileo to the clock and revolutionized timekeeping. Galileo had watched a hanging lamp swinging in the wind and realized that the lamp took the same time to swing back and forth, no matter how wide or short the swing was. He found that the length of the chain on which the lamp hung determined its swing and that he could exactly time its movements. Huygens became fascinated with this idea and set about designing a clock with a swinging pendulum.

The pendulum was connected to the escapement, and a tooth was let free with each swing of the pendulum. The pendulum performed the same function as the balance wheel, but it was more considerably more accurate. The only drawback to the pendulum clock was that it had to be kept level and could not be moved at all, otherwise the swing of the pendulum would be disturbed and therefore inaccurate. However, after its invention mechanical timekeepers were at last accurate, and most clocks thereafter were made with pendulums. Since the pendulum recorded an exact 60 minute hour, people began to adopt a day with 24 equal 60 minute hours instead of lengthening or shortening the hours according to the season of the year as previously done.

Pendulum clocks were powered by a mainspring or a weight hanging from the end of the rope. In a pendulum wall clock or grandfather clock the weight required to keep the pendulum in motion for a week is about 5 to 10 pounds, and it travels or drops just a few feet as the rope unwinds from the drum. A large tower clock may need a weight of 100 pounds or more, and it may travel the full height of the tower.

Can hypnosis really make my boobs get bigger?

Question by Angel: Can hypnosis really make my boobs get bigger?
I heard you can do just about anything with hypnosis, lose weight, gain muscle. Will it work with breast enlargements.

Best answer:

Answer by Grant
Nope.

Puberty, age, and gaining weight are the only natural ways to increase the size of your chest.

Hypnosis works for losing weight because you can be convinced that you’re not as hungry at meal times. Its you’re body taking in less food that is causing the weight loss, not the hypnosis.

Gaining muscle is similar, you can be convinced to spend more time at the gym or doing push ups, but again the hypnosis is only a catalyst to an action of the cause, not the cause itself.

Unfortunately hypnosis won’t be able to make your boobs bigger, they can convince you that your boobs are big enough already or to get plastic surgery or to gain weight, but hypnosis isn’t magic.

(*And I’d tell you not to worry about how big your boobs are, and while yes that is important to a few guys, most generally don’t care as long as you are fun to get along with and attractive in general, your tits are just one part of you.- but you’ll still want bigger boobs either way so meh.)

Hypnosis Does It Work - Will Hypnosis Work For Me?

In recent years the popularity of hypnosis has boomed and there are a couple of different reasons for this. First of all the internet has made experiencing hypnosis much easier for everyone. Now you can do a simple search and within seconds be greeted by a multitude of articles, MP3s and videos. Secondly a number of celebrities have gone on record as saying they have used hypnosis to help them improve their lives. For example Matt Damon and Ellen DeGeneres have both used hypnosis to quit smoking while Lily Allen and Courtney Love have used hypnosis to lose weight. This has caused interest in hypnosis to peak to unprecedented levels. Now all around the world people are asking the question “will hypnosis work for me?” Hypnosis Does It Work

To answer this question we first have to look at how hypnosis works. When you enter a hypnotic trance the subconscious part of your mind becomes more receptive to suggestion. So once in a trance a hypnotherapist can make appropriate suggestions to help you achieve your goals.

There are a few misconceptions about hypnosis that also need to be cleared up. Hypnosis is not a form of mind control as some people believe it to be. This is simply not possible as a person who has been hypnotized is not asleep or unconscious so they are perfectly aware of what is being said to them and what is happening. It is also impossible to be “stuck” in hypnosis. This may happen in the movie Office Space but it is not true to life.

Hypnosis is primarily a complementary treatment and this means that it is often not a cure in the strictest sense of the word. What hypnosis does though is focus the mind on achieving a specific goal. There are many goals that hypnosis can help you achieve. Quitting smoking and weight loss are two of the best known and most common goals yet hypnosis can also help people to relax more, lessen anxiety, heighten their confidence, improve their sleep, beat bad habits and even increase the rate of healing. This isn’t just hearsay either, scientific studies have fallen firmly on the side of hypnosis working and being highly effective. A recent study even showed that the brainwaves of someone under hypnosis show up differently on a brain scan than someone who isn’t. This shows that hypnosis has a definite, measurable effect.

Hypnosis has been used since the times of ancient Egypt, it continues to be used to this day and there is no doubt it will be used well into the future. The reason? Because hypnosis really works. The success rate may not be 100% but no treatment can honestly claim that sort of success rate. It is true that some people can be harder to hypnotize than others however experience has shown that the vast majority of people can use hypnosis extremely successfully.

If you are still asking “will hypnosis work for me?” have no fear. All the evidence shows that hypnosis works, and it works well. It doesn’t even have to be expensive now has you can buy a hypnosis session on MP3 for less than . A life changing experience for less than ? Works for me.
